I really like it!

I think this is one of the best dance tracks I've heard in about six months-- if not longer! I like how the melody is sort of alwyas present throughout the song, not explicitly, but it all seems to point back to the original melody. Especially because it does so without becoming too reptitive or predictable-- but also it's predictable enough so one knows when one has to bust out dancing albeit they're surprised when they get there.
My favorite songs are those in which something is learned along the way. There is no better teacher than experience.

Shinrog responds:

Agreed...

I like the idea

It's pretty good, I think it would work well as background music, but it progresses really slowly for a song that's good to listen to by itself-- you know? It's good because it's not distracting, but that's also what makes it sort of bad. It's one of those weird schisms.
I like how it sounds - but again I feel like I want to skip parts to hear the next variations.

SkatingIsGenetic responds:

Oh...I see what the problem is.

But it's a dilemma, because I WANT it to progress slowly.

But I'm guessing the parts I have aren't...pulling people into the full song, just only certain parts.

I don't know how I'll be able to make that work...lol

I'll figure it out though.

But then again I like it this way, so this just might be a tribute to me.

I don't know, I'll see what happpens.

Cool!

I like the sound, pretty cool. I've never heard the original so I'm not sure what to compare it to. I think the only thing that I'm snagging on is the fact that I don't feel like dancing when I listen to this, but maybe I'm into a different type of music than those on the dancing scene.
I think there might need to be just a little bit more variation...I dont know. I know it needs SOMETHING, but I can't put my finger on it.

Ahh...

You know... it's okay, but it's sort of repetitive. There are other 80's Dance synths that sound good with that in the garage band loop library.
I think my favorite part is the beginning, before it starts repeating. I think you have some good primers, but you need more meat. Try editing some of those and making variations, a melody, harmony, maybe.
So 8/10 for the first four measures.
3/10 for the repetition.
I'm also not sure if I should rate up or down for the use of built in garage band loops, but since I don't know I'll leave that out of my evaluation.

Superb!

This is just what I was looking for... a short triumphant sound clip! Thanks a million for makig it. It's good without being excessive, you know? A good accessory. It's music like this-- music that adds instead of dominating-- that I like for games and whatnot.

Lots of good parts.

I'm not sure about this piece. It's got some hit on beats, but it sounds a little incongruous, like it was made in garage band with the pre-made loops. There are some good ideas in there- the beginning especially- but it doesn't mesh.
It's like someone took a perfect diamond ball, somehow shattered it, and glued it back together. It's all there but it's not together the righ way...

Drums threw me!

I think the idea is pretty cool, it has a nice phazing sound to it, and the synths realyl work well together. The only thing that really really threw me was the one drum that was half a count off or so. I can see how it might be something artistic that's over my head, but I thought it took away from the piece.

Really interesting!

I like the flavor of this piece, it starts of with a sort of hesitant feeling, and then opens up just at the right time.
I'd like to hear more of the main instruments though! It sounds a little muted, which would be fine without theclapping effect I guess that's what it is, I hear it everywhere and don't know what to call it.
Anyway, long story short, if the tunes were brightened a little, sharpened, I think it would sind really cool. Of course too much of ANYTHING will be going the wrong way anyway. 4/5

SkatingIsGenetic responds:

Ha ha, yeah, the claps I'm going to change.

I have way too much of it...

Again, I have to spend more time on the aspect of music that I suck at which is making the beat.

If I finish it, which I should, I'll PM you and let you know!

cooooo...

I rated using the tab key, because it was worth it.
I like the the sax! Great for a noir type monologue. I might even create one around this song!

I do!

I'm not sure what SKA is, but I think I like it!

Haphazardly assembling music since 2004.
